A 10-year-old girl has been brutally killed in Dangriga and police have a teen body detained for the murder. The victim is 10-year-old Claudia Ramirez who went missing near the Ramos Road Area in Dangriga. Her mother Ruvileka Ramirez reported to police that around 6:30 she was working inside the house and left her two children playing outside. A while later Ruvileka was able to find 7 year old Luis but couldn't find Claudia. That is when the mother contacted police who launched a search. Claudia was found this morning in a swampy area in the North Stann Creek River. A bloodied cement block was found next to her and she had bruises to her face. So far police have not determined if she had been raped. Police hope to establish that and a cause of death in a post mortem scheduled for tomorrow. Police tonight have a teenaged male, who she was familiar with, in custody pending charges which are expected to follow tomorrow.
