Did Love Make Teen Boy Kill Girl?

Police have charged a 17 year old for Wednesday night's murder of 9-year-old Claudia Ramirez. The accused is a minor so we can't release his name but police say he is a Honduran national from the same area as the girl, Ramos Road in Dangriga. We also understand he was a family friend who regularly visited the house and told police he loved the girl. It is believed that love turned to murder Wednesday evening when Claudia went to use an outside latrine. He grabbed her, attempted to rape her, she screamed, and then he panicked and is believed to have bludgeoned her with a cement brick. Claudia's body was found in a swamp about 150 yards from her house; it is believed he dragged her body there to conceal it.
