They received a baptism by fire on the frontlines of last week's violent unrest in Belmopan, and today Recruit Squad No. 81 was formally welcomed into the ranks of the Police Department. The eighty men and women of Squad 81 received training in policing skills, martial arts, public relations, and first hand as well as theoretical instruction on crowd management and restraint. Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs Ismael Cal inspected the graduates, and presented individual awards. The instructors paid their respects with a march pass, and the recruits showed their parade skills with a march pass for the Minister of State and the Commissioner of Police. At the end of the event, Minister of Home Affairs Ralph Fonseca presented bouquets to the families of the families of Constables Euwin Armstrong, Neydi Reymundo, Maurice Martinez, three officers who were killed in separate events within the last month of last year.

81 Police Recruits Pass Out
Eighty-one police recruits were welcomed into the Police Department after training in various policing skills and a formal ceremony in Belmopan.
