Police tonight say they have two suspects detained for questioning and Commander of the Criminal Investigation Branch, Assistant Superintendent of Police Chester Williams believes the motive for the murder was that famous old beef.
ASP Chester Williams, CIB Commander
"We have learnt that Mr. Bodden has a longstanding beef with another male person who is also in custody at this time and we are looking at that standing beef to more than likely have been the motive at this time."
Keith Swift,
Mr. Bodden's sister told us the police advised him to buy a gun for his protection.
ASP Chester Williams,
"Well as you rightly mention, Mr. Bodden was recently issued with a firearm license for a.38 revolver and at the time of his death he had the firearm on him."
Keith Swift,
In a lot of these murders the families are saying these are contract killings, we have the case of Jermaine Barrow, Stanley Coleman, and now Mr. Bodden. Is that the intelligence you have?
ASP Chester Williams,
"I really wouldn't say that they are contract killings but like I said, most of them are the result of longstanding beefs between the deceased and the suspects."
ASP Williams says they could bring murder charges as early as tomorrow.
