Yesterday we reported on the bank heist at the Provident Bank on Barrack Road, while yesterday police were investigating, today they have gotten some results. In an operation today one of the suspects was picked up on North Creek where he was found in possession of 54 brand new $5 bills. Officer Commanding CIB Chester Williams says that they have successfully recovered some of the $25,000 in stolen loot and he addressed one mother's claim of police brutality in this case.

ASP Chester Williams, Commander CIB
"We have got much headway with the investigation, we have recovered some of the money and the matter, like I mentioned, is being investigated and I am sure that pretty soon we'll have arrest in connection with that incident. On the news I watched the mother of one of the persons we had in custody crying that her son was being beaten by police. I must say that what she thinks she saw was not what really took place. The boy was inside the office, he was claiming that he could not catch his breath, so he was being helped by the police to a fan so that the fan could assisted him in catching breath. So it was not as a result of police brutality or police beating up on him, that did not take place."

Alfonso Noble,
She was claiming that he was being carried like a crocus bag.

ASP Chester Williams,
"I wouldn't say that he was being carried like a crocus bag but what I can say is that he was being helped by the police because of the fact that he claims that he was going to faint, he could not catch his breath, so the officers were holding him so he could not have fall."

Alfonso Noble,
She also claims that he had visible bruises on his body.

ASP Chester Williams,
"Well if she said she saw visible bruises on his body, I could ensure anyone that that is not so."

While money has been recovered, we understand that in the process of recovering $4,000 more of the money the man who took officers to it, gave them the slip and escaped. He remains at large tonight.
