He was mercilessly chopped up early Saturday morning, and today, 29-year-old Salvapan resident David Aguilar is dead. Belmopan police have two suspects detained and expect to charge them tomorrow.
As we reported on Monday, Aguilar was attacked by two men while heading to his home in the Salvapan Area of Belmopan early Saturday morning. Aguilar had been drinking with his attackers in a Belmopan bar on Friday night when he refused to buy one of them a beer. Later, when he stepped outside he got into a fight with them and they threatened his life. And when Aguilar was heading home that threat was made real as he was chopped with a machete to his face, head, and right elbow. He was left for dead and police found him just barely alive at 6 on Saturday morning.
