Random and reckless gunfire, which have become the norm on city streets hit too close to home for a grandmother last night. Around 8:30, 67-year-old Marie Olivera was sitting on her verandah at the corner of Kraal and Faber's Roads when she heard 3 gunshots. Minutes later Olivera says she then felt a burning sensation in her left thigh and realized she had been shot. She was taken to the KHMH where she was treated for the gunshot injury.
And the stray bullets on Faber's Road also ended up hitting 22-year-old Dwayne Saldano. He told cops he was in the same area around the same time when he too heard 3 gunshots and later realized he was shot. Saldano was injured to the back of his neck. He too was treated and discharged from the KHMH. Police are investigating.
