He was accused of molesting a 6-year-old girl but a 29-year-old man walked off an accusation of carnal knowledge in the Supreme Court yesterday evening. A jury of 4 woman and 5 men deliberated for four hours and at around 6 yesterday evening they came out with a not guilty verdict in the case of Roosevelt hope who had been accused of carnal knowledge and indecent assault.

The jury first acquitted hope of the charge of carnal knowledge after which Justice Adolph Lucas gave them further instructions telling them that a girl under the age of 14 cannot give consent to touching because it is against the law. When the jury came out at 8 they again pronounced hope not guilty, this time of the charge of indecent assault.

The minor testified that in February of 2003 she was along with other children who were sent to buy boledo while she was asked to stay behind which is when she was molested. It has all the appearances of a terrible case of abuse but the case could not stand because there was no corroboration from the examining doctor who was unable to state with certainty what the child had been penetrated with.
