Burglar Killed in the Act

A burglar was killed by a Belize City homeowner. The homeowner, whose name has not been released, told police that he was awakened by noises from the lower part of his home. He went downstairs and found that a burglar had gotten into his home. That's when he found, 28 year old James Young who threatened him with knife. That's when the homeowner pulled out his licensed nine millimeter pistol and shot Young twice in the stomach and leg. He was taken to the KHMH where he died shortly thereafter. A search of the area found items including electronic equipment and clothing stashed across the fence ready to be taken. Charges are not likely to be brought against the homeowner.
