And while the BTL matter is still being negotiated, the fate of Human Resource Manager Dale Trujeque has been settled. The Director of Public Prosecutions today announced that charge against Dale Trujeque for taking part in a strike without informing the Minister of Labor, is being withdrawn. In a release today the DPP's office states that while Trujeque was part of work stoppage at BTL, he did not go on strike. The release goes on to state that the DPP was never notified or consulted when Trujeque was charged and the DPP heard about the case in the media.
It's clearly indicative of a rift between the DPP's office and the top brass of the Police Department in the person of Attorney and Assistant Commissioner Eulalio Cantun, the man who arrested and charged Trujeque. But one man who isn't complaining is Dale Trujeque, who expressed relief and satisfaction that his case is now over.
Dale Trujeque,
"Well received. Feel vindicated. I feel also its an intelligent decision by somebody who appears to know the law in the government."
Alfonso Noble,
Do you think that it was just a frivolous targeting of yourself from the onset?
Dale Trujeque,
"I've thought about it Alfonso and if I become convinced it is then we could be having a malicious prosecution case against the arresting officer."
Alfonso Noble,
Will you be pursuing that route?
Dale Trujeque,
"I am looking at it. I am looking at it because irrespective of what our various roles are in social upheaval of this sort, I still think the authorities need to do their job properly and I expect that educated people like me, intelligent people, and speaking for the average who might not know better, we expect the police to act appropriately."
