20-year-old Godfrey Hemsley is lucky to be alive tonight after he was shot eight times last night in Belize City. Hemsley who lives in the Yabra Area of Belize City had gone to run an errand for his mother. he told cops he was on Albert Street west when he was approached by a gunman on a bicycle who unloaded a spray of bullets on him. 8 of the bullets caught Hemsley and he was hit on his legs, left arm, and mid-section. He was taken to the KHMH where he remains tonight in a critical condition.
This is not the first or the second time an attempt has been made on his life. In May (See Yabra House Riddled With Bullets) of last year gunmen unloaded 9 bullets on his mother's Yabra Road home. At the time too the bullets were intended for Hemsley. Though he was home, he escaped with injury but an aunt was injured. Hemsley was first shot in February of last year.
