And the victim from Friday evening's second road traffic accident died over the weekend. 27-year-old Raymond Mascal died from head injuries received when the scooter he was riding collided with a red Toyota car on the Northern Highway near the Belize Biltmore Plaza Hotel. Raymond worked as a messenger at Chicho's Marine Service Center and was returning from delivering a package. He succumbed to the injuries on Saturday night. His father Louis Mascal says his son never regained consciousness.

Louis Mascal, Father
"I knew he was in a coma but I knew he was somewhere listening and that is something that made me feel good. You could say that was the last I talked to him and that was the last I knew of him until I got back when they told me he just died just before I got back with some food."

Keith Swift,
What injuries did you observe on our son?

Louis Mascal,
"What I learnt from the doctor was that it was real severe and that's the reason why he wanted to talk to us because he wanted to give him a CAT Scan which would have determined the extent of the damage he had in his brain. The doctor believed at that point it was terrible though because of his response. He had a lot of fractures, two of his ribs were broken and his lungs were punctured. He had a lot of severe injuries and from what I saw I believe it would have been so terrible if he had even lived because he was in a terrible condition."

Police are investigating but stress that no charges have yet been filed against the driver of the car Robert Mossiah.
