2 years and nine months after the disappearance of taxi man Carlos Thompson, police have found his remains. At around 3 on Wednesday of this week police were alerted to what appeared to be the human remains off the Western Highway near the Windy Hill Resort. Forensic examinations verified that the bones were human remains. In their search for the victim's identity they called in 34 year old Minita Calderon of Bullet Tree Village who verified that a brown pair of shoes found along with the bones belonged to her common law husband 55 year old taxi man Carlos Thompson.

Thompson went missing on Sunday December 8, 2002. 5 days after that, his white Toyota Corolla was found burnt up. At the time his family vowed that they would find him bringing the search to an end, but providing no closure for the mystery of his death.

Jules Vasquez Reporting,
Family members of Carlos Jesus Sampson gathered this afternoon on a feeder road just outside of San Ignacio Town off the Bullet Tree Road. It is the abandoned and overgrown farm property of Abid Bejos where just before noon today a resident of the area Dito Waight found this car burnt and abandoned. It is the property of Jesus Thompson who was last seen on Sunday night. He worked in San Ignacio Town in front of the Courts Building.

"I see Ding during the night to work but after that next day I hear ding disappear and they can't find him."

Jules Vasquez,
So do you know who he might have picked up last?

"Well I noh know who he pick up last. That's a hard thing to know who he pick up last."

But no one knows where Thompson went after that. His car showed that more than just being burnt it had been stripped of its windshield, battery, spark plug wires, and right front wheel and then set on fire. But no traces of Thompson were found and no signs of a struggle were apparent leaving family members quizzed and desperate.

Brother,
"When we get nothing, only the car bun up and he noh deh there. We searched the whole area and nothing, where is he. We searched the whole area and we find nothing and at least if he was dead we would have seen Jan crow or something like that. So I got the feeling that my brother still living and they have him somewhere hijacked. We need help to try find him, try rescue him."

Jules Vasquez,
Who would do something like this? The vehicle was found stripped and burnt.

Brother,
"Bad people man, bad people man. It must be somebody he knows because if it wasn't somebody he knows he wouldn't have come back here."

And his friends say that while not overly cautious Thompson knew how to take care of himself.

"He mostly pick up people around here who he knows and I wouldn't commit myself to say how cautious he is but."

Now his family hopes that despite the evidence of this burnt vehicle left in bushes he is still somehow alive.

Brother,
"I hope he is still alive. No matter what they asked for, we will give them anything they want. We will try our best but we want him alive, please don't kill my little brother."

That search for the family continues as now they look for answers. Police say the case remains open and they are asking anyone with information to call their crime stoppers hotline at 0-800-922-TIPS.
