And while Ladyville Police continue to look at that s stolen car operation, officers working the checkpoint at Boom cutoff made another important arrest last night. At around 7:00 pm, police searched a Novelo's Bus traveling toward Corozal and noticed a man acting suspiciously. They checked black bag that he was carrying which led to the discovery of a packet of suspected cocaine weighing in at 1.07 kilos. Police have arrested 30-year-old Kent Forges of Corozal Town and charged him for drug trafficking. Ladyville's O.C., Sergeant Chris Noble discussed the find.
Jules Vasquez,
How unusual is this for someone to be taking so large and so valuable a trove of cocaine on public transport?
Sgt. Chris Noble, O.C. Ladyville Police
"It shows as not unusual but the way in which these people are thinking, it may pass just right under our noses or away from us."
Jules Vasquez,
Are you of the opinion that the person involved in this was what would be called a mule or is this person a major player in the illicit drug trade?
Sgt. Chris Noble,
"He could be either. We have not determined that and maybe down the road we will."
Kent Forbes was charged for drug trafficking and was offered bail of $10,000.
