Today police charged two more men, this time brothers, for Friday night's robberies near the Lord Ridge Cemetery and these two are no strangers to the law.
Today 30-year-old Hubert "Kid" Velasquez and his brother 26-year-old Delbert Hinds were both charged with robbery. The brothers are charged for the holdup of Glenford Tench which occurred around 9:50 pm. Tench says he was walking near the cemetery when he was jumped by four men who stole his wallet, his cell phone, and the shoes off his feet.
The Notorious "Kid" Velasquez appeared before the Chief Magistrate where he pleaded not guilty and was remanded until October 31st. Hinds appeared before Dorothy Flowers and also pleaded not guilty. In an interesting court room moment, when Magistrate Flowers asked Hinds what he did for a living, Hinds replied "just reading." Hinds later revealed that he is just learning to read.
They join Abdul Kareem Theus and Windell Vernon who were charged earlier in the week.(See Armed Gang Terrorizes Grave Yard)
