The manhunt for the last two remaining fugitives who had broken out of the Hattieville Prison has ended. At around 6 yesterday evening 17 year old accused murderer Robert Gillett was captured near the mile six bridge on the Western Highway.

As for the 4th escapee, Cameron Blease who is just 15 years old, his run lasted a bit longer. After intensive searches in the mangroves by prison and police personnel last night and after firing on the 15 year old numerous times while in the bush, the manhunt ended at, of all places, at his home in the Lake Independence area. Blease suffered the night in the mangroves near mile 8 on the Western Highway with a gunshot wound to his lower calf area. Early this morning at around 6:30 he boarded a bus like a resident of the mile 8 community and made his way home, passing through the mile 4 police checkpoint without being recognized. By 6:50 he was home taking a shower. Police were called to the house where they allowed him to finish his shower and then took him into custody for later transfer to the prison. Blease is on remand for the attempted murder of his brother a case which proceeds - even though his brother has refused to testify.

All four escapees now face charges for assault of prison officer Maxwell Torres and escape. Also, the four of them, all minors, they have been transferred form the youth facility to the super max area.
