On November 29th Sherwin Yearwood was found dead (See Murdered on Southern Foreshore) in an open lot on Southern Foreshore. He had been shot in the head. Today, almost three weeks later, police say they have the men who did it, and they know why they did it. Officer in charge of the Crimes Investigation Branch Assistant Superintendent of Police Chester Williams explains that Yearwood was killed by his friends in the 'kick down fence' crew.

ASP Chester Williams, CIB Commander
"Well basically from our investigations it would appear that the motive was somewhat drug related."

Jules Vasquez,
Are there any indication if these people were in a set or were in a crew with each other and there was a falling out or was it between rival groups?

ASP Chester Williams,
"Again from our investigations they were hangout buddies. They were one group of people who normally hangout at the corner of Dean Street and East Collett Canal, I believe. That is where they normally hangout, they are called the 'kick down fence crew.' We have been getting good assistance from the public in terms of solving our major investigations and, as before, I will say again thanks to the community, the public, for the support that they have been giving us."

Jules Vasquez,
What is that overall evidentiary lynchpin which told you that it is the people who are accused?

ASP Chester Williams,
"Based on evidence that we have at hand from witnesses, we can safely say that we have the correct persons."

Today in court, 28-year-old Terrence Bailey of Bocotora Street, 28-year-old Jerry Bush of Tigris Street, 29-year-old Shinette Staine of Bocotora Street and a 16 year old were charged for murder. According to our reports, the killing may have been motivated by a dispute over some missing marijuana.
