Lisa Neal and her nine children who were evicted from their Arlington Drive home yesterday, remain in that house tonight, in defiance of a court order. But tonight might be the last night because we are reliably informed that tomorrow the court will again attempt to evict the family. This evening Neal told us that the land's owner Jennifer Ariola visited her last night and agreed to let her stay in the house until February. Tonight we also know that the lot at 7313 was never owned by Allyson Baird. Instead we understand that Jennifer Ariola applied for the lot and finally got it in November of 2004. The former Area Representative Dolores Balderamos-Garcia today told us that she sympathizes with Neal, but Ariola was given the land and the house because her need is also great. She adds that the affidavit signed by Allyson Baird is useless because she never owned the land.
This evening PUP city council candidate for the Port Oscar Rosado Jr. told us he is working with Neal and her family to secure a piece of land for them and arrange a permanent and stable living arrangement. But that won't happen until January the earliest and until then Neal and her family continue to live in a borrowed home on borrowed time.
