The child's father, Leroy Rhaburn Sr. who is known as 'red ants' and brothers Brent and Burton Garoy appeared before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord where they were arraigned for two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and conspiracy to commit murder. These charges are for a shooting which occurred around 9 on Saturday night. Police believe that this shooting led to the retaliation in Taylor's Alley at midnight. All three were denied bail and remanded to prison until January 19th.
But the court isn't done with "red ants." He is also facing charges of theft and robbery. We start with the theft where a man alleges that "red ants" snatched his $700 gold chain from around his neck. Alamilla told police that he was standing at the corner of Handyside and Queen Streets when he was accosted by a red skinned man dressed in camouflage he later identified that man as Leroy Rhaburn Sr.
The second charge, a robbery occurred back on December 6th and the victim Marlon Ysaguierre told police that 'red ants' stole his cellphone and left him with a swollen face. Ysaguierre says that on the Tuesday night he was walking with two friends on Orange Street when 'red ants' called him. He says 'red ants' asked him how come he didn't remember him and then pulled out a gun. Ysaguierre claims he told 'red ants' he was mistaken and that's when 'red ants' allegedly grabbed his cellphone. If that wasn't enough, the victim claims that 'red ants' and a friend then pounced on him. A doctor classified Ysaguierre injuries as harm and 'red ants' was arraigned for harm and robbery yesterday.
