Three generations of one family, 47-year-old father, his 24-year-old daughter and her unborn child died in a terrible road traffic accident last night. It happened at about 7 on a dangerous curve on the Northern Highway. Here's our report.
Keith Swift Reporting,
The accident happened on this curve between miles 15 and 16 on the Northern highway when this 18-wheeler Kenmore truck owned by Valley Ranch Enterprises carrying 30 tonnes of white mall on it collided with this Honda Accord.

In the car were 47 year old Alfred Price and his 27 year old daughter Primrose Logan who was pregnant with her first child.
The evidence on the road shows that the impact occurred here on the 18 wheeler's side of the road. The front of the car was crushed and although the airbags released nothing could have protected the passengers from the full frontal impact with an 80,000-pound truck. The car's scattered remains rest on the road-side while the 18 wheeler plowed on ahead, tearing through a fence and mashing down

a tree; the entire trunk seen here still clipped beneath the back tires. It's the kind of tragic road accident that has authorities wary before the long holiday weekend.
Phillip Brackett, Commissioner of Transport
"This is Christmas time and this is time when there'll be a lot of traveling, there will be a lot of drinking and I would like to take this opportunity to appeal to motorists to please drive very carefully, to please do not consume alcohol and drive, try to get someone else to drive you if you are going to be taking some drinks, and just basically try to take care of yourselves and by doing that you will take care of other people."
According to police, Price and his daughter did not die immediately and rescue teams worked furiously to get them out, but they were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Price was the father of 9 children and a founding member of the Youth Connection Band.
At this point, no charges have been laid upon the driver of the truck, 25-year-old Wilhelm Reimer, a Mennonite from Blue Creek. As we noted in the story, the collision appeared to have occurred when the car was in the opposite lane.
