Two alleged robbers who were trying to get out of jail for the Christmas were rejected when they went to the Supreme Court for bail today. Everal Gray and George Young, accused of tying up the security guard at the Fisheries Department on December third and then getting into a shootout with another security guard, went to Justice Michelle Arana requesting bail. But Arana said she is satisfied that there are reasonable grounds for not giving the bail because of the prevalence of the offences they are charged with. Before she gave her ruling Justice Arana heard arguments from Gray's Attorney Lutchman Sooknandan, Young's Attorney Sondre Garoy, and the Director of Public Prosecutions, Kirk Anderson who successfully argued against bail.

Evidence produced at today's hearing showed that Young gave a caution statement to police where he said that Gray set him up by telling him he was going to pick up some drugs and money, and invited him to come along just to watch his back. The pair were first remanded until December 19, they have now been further remanded until January 19.
