On Wednesday police busted two men who had just attempted an armed robbery at Hamze's Store. An alert patrol team found them on North Creek Road in the getaway car with masks, and two handguns, one of them stolen from Hamze. But while two were busted, only one was arraigned today. 26 year old Maxwell Anderson appeared today in Magistrate's Court #6. His 17-year-old accomplice has been released by police without a charge. His absence was noted by the Magistrate Sharon Frazer who asked the police court orderly where he was. But the only man left to face charges was charged with two counts of keeping a firearm without a gun license and two counts of keeping ammunition without a gun license. He was also charged with one count of robbery. He was remanded to prison. When police apprehended Anderson, he had 32-caliber pistol and three live round in his pocket. Inside the car's glove compartment, they found a 9-millimeter pistol with 12 live rounds. That is the gun police believe he had just stolen from shopkeeper Abdul Hamze in a failed robbery attempt. But he was not charged for that robbery; the robbery charge is for robbing a messenger for San Cas limited. Anderson allegedly stole $1,500 in cash and the balance and checks.
