A High Cost for Stealing Pennies

19-year-old Jerdean Jergenson is out on $3,000 bail tonight for stealing $5 in five cent coins. That amounts to one hundred coins and police say Jergenson broke into the Kraal Road home of firefighter Mark Myvette on Christmas day. Myvette told police that the burglar was able to crawl through a window after removing the wooden louvers. Jergenson allegedly stole the glass jar filled with coin from Myvette's bedroom and police busted him as he walked out of the yard with his stolen treasure. What turned police on to Jergenson were his wet long pants. He was charged with burglary today. He was released on $3,000 bail and reappears in court on January 18th.
