He was caught in Belize after the Oprah Winfrey show broadcast the picture of this sexual offender and now Niles Scott has been convicted of the rape and kidnapping of his own niece. Scott's trial started in an Ohio courtroom on January the ninth and after four hours of deliberation, a jury found him guilty on all charges, including four counts of rape and four counts of kidnapping. Scott will now face a predator hearing before he is sentenced on February 24. He could face a life sentence for each rape count, without the possibility of parole for at least 10 years.
On October fifth of 2005, he was featured as a sex crime fugitive on the Oprah show. Any person providing information leading to his recapture and arrest would get a reward of US$100,000. Two local women who knew him as a taxi operator at the tourism village called local police who arrested him within 24 hours of the show's airing. Both women, Patricia Waight and Thelma Palacio, claimed rewards of US$50,000 each and appeared on the Oprah Show in Chicago.
