Two people were killed and two left seriously injured in an accident that happened on Friday night on the Hummingbird Highway. Around 11, 22-year-old Lindon Lewis was driving a Toyota Hilux toward Belmopan when between miles 30 and 31, he lost control, crashed into the side of a hill and overturned. Passengers in the back seat, 21-year-old Winston Smith and 23-year-old Augusto Woodeye both received severe head and body injuries and died on the spot. Lewis and 21-year-old Leeson Reyes were both rushed to the Belmopan Hospital where they remain hospitalized in critical condition.
