Boat Captain Charged for Unlawful Carnal Knowledge

A 19-year-old boat captain is out on bail but facing serious jail time tonight for having sex with an underage girl.

The girl is 13 years old and she told her father that on Monday instead of going to class at St. Ignatius Primary School, she called Leslie Norman Young aka Sleepy. She claims he came to pick her up and took her to his Mangrove Street home where they had sex. She made a police report on Tuesday, a doctor certified she was carnally known, and today police arrested young. This afternoon he was arraigned on a single charge of unlawful carnal knowledge. He was granted and met bail of $5,000 with one surety in the same amount. Under the law, you have to be at least 16 years old to consent.
