He was brutally bludgeoned in a robbery gone bad on New Year's Day and tonight police say they have the murder weapon and the murderers of Russian national Alexi Golouber. Today police formally charged 19-year- old Aaron King and 19-year-old Llewelyn Williams with murder. As we reported, Golouber was found inside his home in the King's Park area on January second. The Commander of the Criminal Investigations Branch and Assistant Superintendent of Police Chester Williams says the case went cold until Saturday when a tipster on the crime stoppers hotline led them to King and Williams.

ASP Chester Williams,
The tip led us to arrest LLewyen Williams, a 19 year old, and Aaron King,

also a 19 year old, in connection with the stabbing death of the Russian who was found in his house murdered in the early part of this year. During that investigation we also recovered a knife which we believe is the murder weapon in this particular case."

Keith Swift,
What was the motive?

ASP Chester Williams,
"From our investigation the motive for that particular murder was robbery."

Keith Swift,
Did these two suspects know the victim?

ASP Chester Williams,
"Yes they knew him quite well. They were frequent visitors to his home. They know the ins and out of his house and apparently they thought he had a quantity of money with him at that time and that was the reason why they went to his place and that particular robbery resulted in a murder.

We have been embarking, through the Commissioner of Police and Mr. Jeffries to work smarter for the year 2006 and we're doing that and it has proven to be very successful for us."

Both teenagers were denied bail and remanded to the Hattieville prison. Golouber is Russian and had been living and working in Belize for 8 years as a paralegal. The crime Stoppers toll free hotline is 0-800-922-TIPS. Rewards are given for tips that lead to arrests.
