A 17-year-old young man, a high school student is in serious but stable condition at the KHMH, considered lucky to be alive, after a bizarre gun related accident left a bullet lodged in his skull.
At around 10 on Friday night 17 year old Aubrey Hernandez was sitting on a discarded deep freeze cooler outside his house on Plues Street when he grabbed his chest and collapsed. One of Hernandez's sisters and niece who were near him checked him and saw an injury to the left side of his head.
He was rushed to the KHMH for treatment where doctors verified that he had a bullet lodged in his head. Thing is, family members say that there was no sound of gunfire near Hernandez or in his neighborhood.
Police are now speculating that the slug may have been fired elsewhere and somehow fell out of the sky unto the young man's head. That bullet remains lodged in his skull but his family is confident that he will recover.
