He was charged with burglary and today Harrison Myvette had his day in court. On September 16th 2005 Myvette was accused of burglarizing the home of Greg Brackett at 29 Mex Avenue. The burglar made off with an assortment of household items valued at $3,400.

The key witness Richard Thurton told the court that he saw Myvette leaving the home of his neighbor through a back door. He set chase with a machete but was unable to catch up with him. Myvette however had dropped the loot which was stuffed inside a green bag. Police retreived it and on December 19th of last year, he was arrested and charged with burglary.

In his defense Myvette told Magistrate Sharon Frazer that he could not have committed the burglary simply because he was out at sea catching Crayfish. The Magistrate did not buy the story and sentenced him to 8 years.

This will run consecutive to another term of six years which he is serving for another burglary that he is convicted of. This is in addition to a 23 month term which he was sent to jail for not paying a total of $3,505 which he owes the court for other offences which he had been found guilty of. He was unable to pay for these hence the 23-month sentence.
