Special Constable Charles Grant who shot himself in his head after allegedly shooting a police officer was to have appeared in court today but he was unable to.As a result of the gunshot injury to the head, Grant has been having severe deterioration in his medical condition and today in Grant's absence, Chief Magistrate offered him bail.

Grant has a piece of his forehead missing, he's lost complete vision in his left eye and a portion of his brain was damaged as a result of the gunshot. Taking these conditions into consideration Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord offered him bail of fifteen thousand dollars. Grant is however not to go near the complainant and he is to report to the clerk of court three days every week.

But, even with all that, Grant was unable to meet bail. He is charged with a number of offences including attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and aggravated assault.
