22-year-old Nigerian Nelson Mbeki really wanted to visit Belize, and that's why he literally risked life and limb to stay here. He arrived in Belize without proper documentation and at 4:55 pm was being sent back to Nigeria via Salvador on a Taca flight. Police escorted Mbeki to the top of the stairs leading to the plane. He was supposed to just walk on, but instead, Mbeke waited on the platform for a minute, contemplated his fate, and then tried to jump off the 20-foot platform.

A Taca employee caught him by the hand, but he still slipped away and fell to the tarmac. With that, Mbeki earned a brief stay over as he's been hospitalized for minor injuries. It's only a brief respite though, when he recovers, he will be sent back.
