Not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter was the unanimous verdict this evening from a jury in the trial of 22 year old Trevor "Flour" Gill. Gill was charged for the February 25th 2005 killing of Anthony "Pie Boy" Flowers.

The prosecution was led by Crown Counsel Audrey Matura whose star witness was Kevin Thompson. He testified that while he didn't see gill stab Flowers he did see them talking to each other. He says shortly after he saw an injured Flowers clutching a knife which was stuck in the left side of his chest. Tata Sebastian and Mark Rowley also testified for the crown and told the court that Flowers' last words to them were that, "Flour had juck him down."

Gill proclaimed his innocence in an un-sworn statement from the dock. He said that at the time of the murder, which was 10 pm in the night, he was at a dockyard on North Front Street with a friend who has since died. The jury of 7 women and 5 men deliberated for four hours. Trial Judge Troadio John Gonzalez will hear mitigation pleas next Friday. Gill was defended by his court appointed attorney David Morales.
