This morning an irate mother of three teenaged young men visited our studios to complain about what she calls abuse of power by the officer commanding CIB at Eastern Division ASP Chester Williams. Elsa Augustine says that she was at home this morning when her neighbor and brother to the CIB boss complained to her that he was having some misunderstanding with her three sons. She says she was discussing the matter when Assistant Superintendent of Police Williams arrived and arrested her sons; she claims for no reason at all.

Elsa Augustine, Mother
"Two police went into my house, put handcuffs on Mario hands like Mario could kill or do something. I asked them why are they doing that to that little boy because he is a minor, he is only 16. Chester Williams told me to shut my mouth. So the next two came out and they told Chester they didn't have anything to do with that so why are they (the police) harassing their brother. Chester Williams said he would take the two of them too so they took the three of them and they put them in the vehicle. I told Paloma that is a minor. He said 'really' and I said 'yes' so he said to get in with us because you are to go with them since they are minors. So I went inside the vehicle.

When I got inside the vehicle Chester Williams told Paloma to pull she out of the vehicle. So I told them to pull me and let me get hurt and you (they) will know. My children begged and said to please come out of the vehicle because they didn't them to hurt me because then it will be different thing. So I am coming out of the other side and a next dark police, I don't know his name, he came and he pulled me like to make me quickly get out of their vehicle. So I said fine and I will go down to the station. But I can't talk to nobody there because Chester Williams is the highest in CIB so there is nobody else I could turn to say what can I do to get my little boys out. They have my little boys locked down. For what, I don't know."

Alfonso Noble,
Is it possible that your sons did threaten this man?

Elsa Augustine,
"Well I have no idea."

Alfonso Noble,
You're here defending your son and you don't even know what he did.

Elsa Augustine,
"Well as a mother your children never tell you what they did or what but we are all neighbors and we should get thing settled. And Williams as an Inspector should come and get everybody together and settle the thing. He cannot just go on his brother's side because that is his brother. All of us have people and all of us love our people same way. He love his brother and I love my children so then what is that problem. He will win because he has more authority over me and I can't do nothing. I just have to sit back and just take everything they do to me and my children.

I just want somebody to come out and at least assist me and let me know because they are minors and I think things could settle. I can't do it alone because I am single and I don't have the authority to do nothing. Whatsoever they will charge my children for, I don't know if I will be to help them through."

Williams today told us that he did not specifically respond to the case because the incident involved his brother. Instead he says he was in the area when he heard a call on the police radio and responded, picking up the three young men and handing them over to the Patrol Branch. He tells us the three identified as 18 year old Emmerson Garnett, 16 year old Mario Noralez and Jason Noralez will be charged with threatening words.
