A jury of 7 women and 5 today deliberated the fate of Darrington Lauriano who stood trial for the January 15th 2004 killing of Kareem Broaster.
At 12:40 the jury went in for the beginning of their deliberations. Almost four hours later the came out for further instructions. By 4:07 they announced that they were unable to reach a verdict. Despite being sent in for 40 minutes more they were still unable to produce a unanimous verdict. With that, trial judge john Troadio Gonzalez discharged the jury and told the accused Darrington Lauriano that he would have to return for a re-trial.
In January of 2004 Kareem Broaster was in front of his North Creek Home when a man approached him with a 9 millimeter pistol firing several times at him killing him on the spot. Police said Lauriano was the one who pulled the trigger.
