From what has been reported over the past three days about him, you'd definitely have to conclude that Albert Guy is definitely not a "nice guy." He is accused of stealing a taxi man's car, and then eluding police on a high-speed chase through Ladyville which ended when, it is alleged, he knocked down a pedestrian.

Indeed, Guy has a colorful history of transgressions, dating back to October of 2000 when he was accused of trying to kidnap a University of Belize student. After skipping bail, he was convicted for that, but it was thrown out. Last year he was accused of committing a similar crime, this time in Orange Walk.

But that's in the past. This week, he appeared in Belize City Magistrates Court where he was released on a $500 bail for the charge of taking a conveyance without authorization. But now Guy says that he's the victim. He came to our studios complaining that when Ladyville Police picked him up on Monday afternoon he was tormented and brutalized. For proof Guy showed us severe bruises that he had all over his body.

Albert Guy, Alleges Police Brutality
"They accused me of taking a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner. While I was in custody, they beat me up and started questioning me about a sack of cocaine."

Alfonso Noble,
How were they beating you and which policemen were beating you?

Albert Guy,
"Two dark police and two Latin police."

Alfonso Noble,
Where did this incident happen?

Albert Guy,
"In Ladyville."

Alfonso Noble,
How were they beating you?

Albert Guy,
"With a pipe, boots, and a bat."

Albert Guy,
"Well I can show you the injuries."

Alfonso Noble,
What can you visibly see on your body?

Albert Guy,
"A lot of bruises and a fractured ribs."

Alfonso Noble,
Do you think you are being targeted by the police?

Albert Guy,
"I know that for a fact."

Alfonso Noble,
Why do you say that?

Albert Guy,
"Because they told me that."

Alfonso Noble,
What did they tell you?

Albert Guy,
"That I am a target to them right now."

Alfonso Noble,
Why did you see it necessary to come to the media?

Albert Guy,
"Its my right to let the public know what they are doing out there. I would like to see justice or I'll take it to the court."

Alfonso Noble,
Will you be suing the Police Department? Is that what I am hearing?

Albert Guy,
"I'll have to act on the advice of my lawyer. I want to take it step by step."

And while we can't show all the bruises, we did see many more on his groin and buttocks area. Today, G. Michael Reid says that Guy should take his complaint to the Internal Affairs Department.
