Police this morning took two men to Magistrate's Court. There they formally charged 23-year-old Andrew Carrillo and 20 year old Guatemalan Alex Bautista. The men were taken before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord where they were read charges of murder and arson. The matter was adjourned to 30th November of this year.
The case is as a result of the killing of 25-year-old Honduran national Gerson Javier Hernandez Ramos whose burnt body was found inside a house on Victoria Street on Friday morning. Police continuing their investigations to determine the connection the murder has to the international gang Mara Salvatrucha. As for Alex Bautista, if the name and face seem familiar it's because he's the same man whom a 10-year-old girl had alleged he had raped. At the time the father of the child had been picked up and charged by police for Bautista's kidnapping after he learnt of the relationship the girl had with Bautista.
