In early July we told you about tons of garbage that washed up on the shoreline of Punta Gorda Town. Now there is a repeat of the situation this time however it's on the beaches of Placencia. It's not as bad as the case in Punta Gorda but it is a major concern for residents of the tourist hotspot as that garbage is littering almost the entire shoreline of the peninsula. We understand that again the garbage may not have originated in Belize rather it must have floated down from neighboring Guatemala and Honduras. Residents in the area are tell us that it's not unusual that garbage eventually ends up on the beach but they are usually diligent to clear it up as it shows up.
