On May 21st of 2005 police in Caye Caulker put a beating on the then 22-year-old Luis Alcoser so bad that he had to have his spleen removed. Well tonight it appears the officers responsible will get little or no jail time. The rogue cops are Ricardo Cowo and John Mas who allegedly beat Alcoser when they tried to detain him. Both men were originally charged with dangerous harm. Today with the cooperation of the DPP's office and advice of their own attorney Linsbert

Willis, Cowo pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of grievous harm and Mas copped a plea to the lesser charge of common assault. Both will be sentenced later this week, which is little comfort for their victim Luis Alcoser. Today he was at the Supreme Court, and he told Keith Swift that he doesn't want the cops to go to jail, he just wants his spleen back.
Luis Alcoser,
"My reaction to what happen at court this morning is that it is like there is no kind of justice."
Keith Swift,
They left you pretty messed up right?
Luis Alcoser,
"Watch this, this is the operation they did to take out my spleen. You can only see one big cut outside but it is not only the big cut. My spleen is out and my organs were affected. They abused me. They kicked me up so bad and the day when you saw me in the hospital, you could have seen the size of feet on me. My nose is still twisted and my teeth are still hurting."
Keith Swift,
You said these police officers did this, what do you want? What do you think they deserve?
Luis Alcoser,
"What they deserve? Let them live a happy life just like how I am going to finish live my happy life. I don't have any type of hate for them."
Fortunato Noble, 7NEWS
"One of them is charged with grievous harm, that still warrants some jail time. Would that please you, would that make you feel any better?"
Luis Alcoser,
"What will make me feel better is I would just get back my inside. It won't make me feel better if they go to jail. If they go to jail I don't what they would do there and what would happen to them. The thing I am telling you is that I feel love for them and I don't hate them.,
Justice John Troadio Gonzalez will sentence Cowo and Mas on Friday. A police probe had found that Mas and Cowo did use excessive force on Alcoser.
