On October 22 of 2004, he waived his rights to an extradition hearing and he was put on a plane back to the U.S. Since then Reynaldo de la Concepcion Silvestre who was dubbed the 'Butcher of South Beach' has been found guilty of a string of offences in the U.S. ranging from fraud, to aggravated battery and practicing medicine without a license. And while he is serving time in the U.S. on Tuesday a Miami jury awarded a woman $4.6 million in settlement after Reynaldo Silvestre performed gross malpractice on her.
Jeanette Bernal was awarded the money after Silvestre who, posing as a plastic surgeon 8 years ago disfigured her when she went to him for breast implants. But while Silvestre is in jail, attorneys for Bernal are looking at Belize for Silvestre to make good on payments since reportedly he has some assets here. He had been living in Belize from 2000 to 2004.
