Last night on this newscast, Roberto Aleman, the brother of Jose Aleman who was accused of killing his in laws, make a passionate plea for police to comply with the DPP and charge Chester Williams for beating a murder confession out of his brother. Well, the police have responded. Today the senior command made it clear that the confession statement had time-matched details the police could not have known; that it was witnessed by two justices of the peace who have given statements that it was not beaten out of him; and the Magistrate who arraigned him has also given a similar statement; and that Aleman was implicated by the other accused men.
Still, DPP Kirk Anderson was not satisfied and now 7NEWS has obtained the directive from the DPP's office where he directs that Chester Williams should be charged for harm. It is dated November 15th and addressed to the head of the police Internal Affairs Department. It says, "at this time, there

exists a more than adequate basis to allow for and require that Superintendent Williams be charged for harm." But Anderosn warns that, there is a statute limit of 6 months and that started in mid-July. Anderson advises that officer in charge of Dangriga, Superintendent Russell Blackett, and Corporal Nicolas Palomo must be put before an identification parade along with Williams.
According to Aleman, subsequent to that letter, more specific directives were sent. The Police Department would now hope to make its arguments to the new DPP who will reportedly be Lutchman Sooknandan.
