There are major developments to report tonight in the case of 74-year-old Raymond Simon who has been missing since Friday. As we reported last night - Simon left his home in the Vista Del Mar area of Ladyville on Friday morning and his family hasn't seen him since.
After our story last night, Simon's family received information that he was in an accident near the roundabout at the Orange Walk Bypass. Witnesses say that Simon was driving his Ford Tauras when he veered off the road. He tried to reverse but when he couldn't, he simply got out of the vehicle and started walking.
Orange Walk Police concede that they knew of the accident but the officers who were at the scene asked Simon to wait for a team of traffic officers. But by the time the traffic police arrived on the scene, Simon had already left and the only thing they did was impound the car. They didn't realize that the car they had impounded on Friday belonged to Simon until they heard about it on the news.
So tonight it is anybody's guess where Raymond Simon could be. His family told us yesterday that he suffers from memory problems. If you can help, you can contact the family at telephone number 601-1328 or the nearest police station.
