Orange Walk Robbery Duo Remanded to Prison

They had the suspects, and police say they now have the gun and vehicle used in last weekend's robbery spree in Orange Walk. 22-year-old Rodney Cardinez and 18-year-old Edwin Staine were today arraigned in court on charges of robbery and aggravated assault for robbing Dirud Rosado's Store on Friday night and Aldo Cambranes' Store on Saturday night.

The pair were additionally charged and arraigned on charges of keeping unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Those charges came after police recovered the getaway car. That's where police say they found the black nine millimeter gun which was allegedly used in the robberies. Both Staine and Cardinez were remanded without bail to the Hattieville Prison until February 15th.
