And while those are supposed to be the rogue cops, and the ones who stopped them are supposed to be the good cops, in the BZ-PD, it seems that even virtue is sometimes tainted. 29-year-old police constable Hercel Garcia is accused of fondling four of the women, and stealing from two of the men who were being trafficked. For those accusations, he was slapped with 4 counts of indecent assault and two counts of theft. Inspector Calbert Flowers is the head of Internal Affairs at Eastern Division. He told us more.

Inspector Calbert Flowers, Internal Affairs
"Four of the immigrants reported to us that while being transported in a van they were stopped at a police checkpoint where one police officer was working. They reported that the police officer took them inside a small booth or a small house and conducted searches on them.

The four females reported that this officer had them stripped of their clothes and began to fondle them. Two of the male immigrants reported that this said officer stole some monies from them.

Based on the this the Internal Affairs Department conducted an investigation which led to a police officer by the name of Hercel Garcia, attached to the Ladyville Police Station.

PC Garcia was the only officer on duty at the time at the Burrell Boom checkpoint. We detained him and he agreed to partake in an identification parade where he was positively identified by the complainants as the police officer who took away their money and who indecently assaulted the females.

As a result, PC Garcia was arrested and charged for four counts of indecent assault and two counts of theft."

The males allege that pc. Garcia stole a total of US$125. He too pleaded not guilty and released on seven thousand dollar bail.
