He was accused of raping a 15-year-old boy but instead of convicting him for committing an unnatural crime, this evening a jury convicted 37-year-old Trevor Henry of the attempt. The 9 member jury unanimously found Henry guilty of attempting to commit an unnatural crime.
The boy who is now 17 testified that in late June of 2005 Henry picked him up and took him to a house near the Burrell Boom-Northern Highway junction where he proceeded to sodomize him. The problem for the prosecution was that a medical doctor certified that while there were lacerations on the boy's anus, he had not been penetrated.
Henry maintained his innocence throughout the trial. Henry appeared in court undefended. He will be sentenced by presiding Justice Adolph Lucas on March 28th. Crown Counsel Audrey Matura was the prosecutor.
