Earlier on we showed you what happened when the UDP's Chendo Urbina went to court in Orange Walk. Well it was far more low key in Punta Gorda when Minister Marcial Mes went on trial for knocking down two minors in January, allegedly while driving drunk.
Mes's case started today in Punta Gorda's courthouse before Magistrate Patrick Rosado. The prosecution, led by Inspector Linden Flowers, presented 6 witnesses including accident victim Samantha Romero. The case was adjourned late this afternoon. It will continue on Monday when Flowers has one more witness to present, that is the arresting officer Corporal Jones. When the prosecution is finished Mes's case will be presented by his attorney Dickie Bradley.
On January 30th Mes was charged with driving a vehicle with an expired license, failure to provide a specimen, two counts of grievous harm and one count of driving without due care and attention.
