A 79-year-old resident of Belize City was killed when his pickup flipped on a bridge in Punta Gorda on Saturday night. The question police now want answers to is whether George Grant Sr. was under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred. Police report that Grant was attempting to cross the Cerros Hills Bridge in P.G. when he lost control of his Dodge pickup truck, missed the bridge, which is described as quite narrow and overturned.
Grant died on impact from the injuries. In the vehicle with Grant at the time was a female passenger who was able to crawl out of the vehicle and call for help. She was treated for minor injuries and released from the P.G. Hospital.
