An 18 year old is in the KHMH tonight recovering after he was shot in his neck on Saturday morning. Police say that around 1 am on Saturday they responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Iguana and Elston Kerr Streets. There on the street they found 18-year-old Wayne Mathews with a gunshot wound to his neck. He was taken to the KHMH where he is still hospitalized. It was neighbors who called police after they heard the gunshot. Police are investigating.
And four hours later, at 5 am on Saturday gunshots rang out again. This time it was at the corner of West and King Streets and the victim was 29-year-old Pink's Alley resident Harrison Blades. Blades says he was in the King and West Streets area visiting friends when he was approached by a man on a bicycle who pulled out a gun and fired as many as ten shots in his direction. Blades was hit twice to the buttocks and once to the left thigh. He was treated and released from the hospital and police are investigating.
