Last night we told you about Rosalee Ogaldez who was stabbed multiple times with an ice pick. She lived to tell the tale and is lucky to be alive. But that's only part of the story. Keith Swift found out today that Rosalee and her family have survived much worse. Here's the story.
Rosalee Ogaldez, Stabbing Victim
"I was stabbed five times: one in my upper chest, one in the bottom here, and three at the back."
Those are the five stab wounds Rosalee Ogaldez received when she was attacked with an ice pick on Wednesday. This morning she took me back to the spot where it happened - right here at the corner of T Street and Allan Pitts Crescent, just footsteps from her home.
Rosalee Ogaldez,
"Wednesday night I was coming from graduation, me and my nephew and my daughter, and before we reached our address, 22 Allan Pitts Crescent, this is T Street, and I approached a young man who was standing watching in the direction of my house with his back turned this way here and then as I was looking to pass, the young man just started stabbing me in front of my kids, and then I was trying to roll over and fight for him to not catch me in my face and then my daughter was trying to knock him so he can leave me alone and he whapped my daughter and he ran; picked up his bike and he went."
Her attacker fled and a neighbor rushed Rosalee to the hospital. She doesn't know why she attacked.
Rosalee Ogaldez,
"I don't even know who it is and I don't even know why he wanted to do this to me in front of my children. I don't know what is the problem so I just leave everything to God, that is all I can tell you. I just want them to leave me alone because I have seven kids to take care of and I don't have nothing for them to kill me for and I don't have no enemy out here. I don't know why this young man did that to me. I just really don't know."
The attack has literally added insult to this family. In December her sister was brutally murdered by her husband. Rosalee now takes care of her dead sister's children, one of whom witnessed their mom's murder in December and the attack on Rosalee Wednesday night.
Rosalee Ogaldez,
"I didn't expect this, I didn't expect I would be the next victim to go through this. I thank God that I recovered and thing like that. It is the kids they are punishing when they come after me like that without any reason. I didn't do them anything and I don't know why. They are punishing our kids. I have three of my kids and three of my sister's kids with a stepson who I raised and it just hard for the family because it is only a little of we."
A doctor classified Rosalee's injury as harm.
