This afternoon in Belize City, post mortem examinations were performed on 28-year-old Silvana Vellos and her eight-year-old son Jaime Moreno, both of San Andres Village in the Corozal District.
The pair were killed yesterday when Silvana Vellos lost control of the pickup truck she was driving and veered directly into the path of an oncoming Dodge pickup truck. The driver of that truck, 36-year-old Eddy Usher has been served with a notice of intended prosecution, which is standard procedure.
Vellos and her three sons were flung from the pickup. 8-year-old Jaime died on the spot, while 10-year-old Crecencio Moreno remains in serious but stable condition at the Northern Regional Hospital, and 6-year-old Benjamin Moreno is in a more serious condition at the KHMH.
