A fruit vendor was shot this morning during a robbery attempt. He is 35-year-old Silas Molina and he was shot shortly after 6 this morning. CIB Chief Superintendent Aaron Guzman says Molina was pushing his cart on Dolphin Street when he was attacked by two men. Superintendent Guzman says Molina fought back and that’s when he was shot.

Supt. Aaron Guzman,
“He is saying that he was approached and held up at gunpoint where there were two people and one of them attempted to search his pocket to rob him of his property. He apparently fought back and he was shot on the right side of his chest. He is in a stable condition at the Karl Heusner Hospital and I can say that so far we are looking for two people. We know their names but we’re not going to call their names right now.

As far as we know, they didn’t manage to get anything because he fought back so it is an attempt robbery and they used a firearm. So we hope to have something done in the result of that case by this evening.”

Molina is hospitalized and was in the operating theatre when we checked on him. As Guzman noted, two suspects are being sought.
